Loretta Mhlengi - USN

BIOGRAPHY

I am a wife to a busy hubby and mother to a gorgeous bright eyed little girl, I work full time in the marketing industry. My day consists of early mornings and late nights which is very common in Johannesburg. I feel planning and consistency is an essential part of each day, and making time for the important things is paramount.

We all have dreams and goals and one of my goals was to join the body building world in the bikini division, and another was to be part of the Arnold Classic. I honestly thought training hard would be the way to success, however I quickly learnt that it wasn’t that simple. Although I trained daily, I was feeling tired and wasn’t seeing any results. The decision to partake in the USN Body Makeover Challenge was a no brainer judging by the past success stories.

To my surprise the challenge kicked off extremely well, and the diet change and exercises made me feel lighter and I had far more energy than I ever had. I learnt being prepared made life easy, allowing me to focus and think clearly. The challenge also gave me a clear understanding of the process the importance of which foods to eat and how to incorporate gym and food into a healthy lifestyle.

Halfway through the challenge I could see my body changing, I lost weight and body fat and gained amazing friends who continue to support, encourage me and are always around to give a helping hand. I was excited to see what was to come.

The main plan was to compete a year after the challenge, but at the end of the challenge I was confident I was stage ready and went on to step on stage and competed at Summer Superbodies. As this was my first competition I was expecting to walk away with experience, however I placed third and I won entry to the Arnold’s Classic Model Search competition. I ticketed off two major goals in less than a year, and today a year after my challenge I continue to meal prep, train and live a healthy lifestyle. I encourage anyone who is looking to change their life for the better to give the challenge a try. I have come to realize that I am part of something far more bigger than myself, as I am living proof that change is possible, and if people see that I can do it, I sincerely hope it encourages them to make the change they’ve always dreamed of – it never is too late!

A gigantic thank you to USN for making this platform possible. I am honored to have made it this far, and the Challenge has escalated from 12 weeks to a lifetime.
