FEMALE FITSPIRATION FROM TEAM USN

Women’s month is not only about celebrating the women in our lives but also the achievements they have accomplished. Here are some of the best health and fitness tips from Team USN’s fierce females to help you smash your health and fitness goals.

BUSI MMOTLA

Consistency is key, you need to be consistent with your training and nutrition to reach your goal. This can also be applied to your daily life, if you are consistent then you will reach your goal.

Never forget that fitness is a journey, find what works for you and stick with it. Be open to learning new ways but always remember that there is no short cut to health and body goals. The goal should be leading a healthy lifestyle then body goals. If you find the discipline to stick to a healthy diet, it’ll be easier to reach your goals.

You’re uniquely beautiful, don’t let them tell you otherwise. You are worth it, and your efforts will never go unnoticed. Right now, smile and faith it till you make it.

LORETTA NTSUKA

Training is the best way to relieve stress and stay in shape. I might not have all the fancy equipment or weights but I use what I have to exercise. This has kept me sane during these difficult times and together with my USN supplements I am able to maintain the muscle I had before lockdown.

Nutrition is the body’s best energy source; I always say eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring. Get creative with your food. One extremely important lesson I learnt is that you don’t have to starve yourself to lose weight.

Try to eat everything in its natural form. Know how it was made, and what ingredients product contains. Avoid sugar in all products and food as much as possible.

Find a type of training that you can incorporate in your lifestyle that is fun and gets you results. If you only have 30 minutes to spare a day, make those 30 minutes count and challenge your body and muscles. I believe it is important to include resistance training as well and cardio into your daily training

Have clearly defined goals of what you want to achieve so that you are always motivated to push even when you are stressed, or not always inspired.

FIRDOUS ASMODIEN

The most difficult part about a training program is always to start. Once you have started, the best way to help you stay focussed and get results, is to know exactly what your goals are and to plan your training program towards achieving your specific goals. Remember to really challenge yourself during each session. Progress in your training to ensure constant improvement, at least every 2 weeks, by either increasing:

  1. Weight/resistance
  2. Amount of reps/amount of sets
  3. Level of intensity
  4. Length of training
  5. Speed

Food is fuel! Without the correct fuel, your ‘motor’ or body cannot be expected to perform optimally. It’s important to have an eating plan that is in line with your body performance goals. Sports supplements plays a vital role in helping your body perform optimally and recover effectively, especially if you are putting it under a lot of strain while on a strenuous program.

For me, it’s all about having a healthy lifestyle that you can maintain throughout the year. Think about it, who doesn’t want to look and feel good all year around?

Instead of trying a new diet every other week, what about challenging yourself to form a healthy realistic lifestyle you can maintain throughout the year. Consistency gives results.
