Halaal

USN predominantly makes use of the National Independent Halaal Trust (NIHT) and the South African National Halaal Authority (SANHA) to certify products as Halaal.

NIHT is an internationally accredited and recognised Halaal Certification Body which was founded as the Independent Halaal Trust (IHT) in 1992. NIHT is dedicated to provide Muslim and Non-Muslim consumers with legitimate and authentic certified products.

SANHA is an international, non-profit organisation, representing the Muslim Ummah on all matters pertaining to the general application of the term Halaal with specific reference to Islamic dietary laws.

SANHA has been established as a representative authority, which promotes professionalism and excellence in the certification of Halaal food and other related products.
